PROGRAMING
We host community-facing programs like artist talks, tours, and district events (including Georgetown Art Attack). The goal isn’t just “attendance” it’s sustained engagement: reasons to return, bring a friend, and feel like the gallery belongs to you.
Public benefit
-
Free or low-cost access to timely, socially relevant artwork
-
Themes that make contemporary art easier to enter through statements, talks, and contextual materials (as capacity allows)
-
Partnerships with schools and community groups to broaden reach
Our artists program
Artist's are supported through tailored scopes of work; portfolio development, representation, coaching, solo exhibitions, and launching new bodies of work. These projects are often larger in scope, planned in advance, and primarily grant-funded. They’re designed to create meaningful opportunities in the creative economy supporting artists not only as sellers of objects, but as educators, fabricators, collaborators, and cultural leaders.
Public benefit
-
Ambitious exhibitions and programs that can stay free or low-cost
-
Multi-site and technology-enabled access (digital programming, offsite activations, documentation)
-
Capacity-building that strengthens the broader cultural ecosystem
EXHIBITIONS + EVENTS
Since 2023, SlipStitch has hosted a growing slate of free, public exhibitions and events designed to make contemporary art feel welcoming, relevant, and accessible; right here in Seattle. What began as a community-rooted gallery program has evolved into an artist-centered platform for socially contextual exhibitions, artist talks, workshops, and neighborhood collaborations that connect underrepresented makers with new audiences and real opportunities.
Grounded in our core values of accessibility, inclusion, and ethical cultural entrepreneurship, we create experiences that invite curiosity, conversation, and belonging, while honoring artists through fair practices and community-first partnerships. Explore our past exhibitions and public programs below to see how we’re building an inclusive art ecosystem where art is a civic asset, and everyone has a seat in the room.
